Tin based alloys. Babbit. Solders.
The most known and widely used tin based alloys are solders and babbits. Tin based alloys with antimony and copper – babbits – are characterized by perfect antifriction properties over a lubricant, and therefore are widely used as the bearings material. Solders are the alloys of tin with the lead in various proportions according to designation.
