Cadmium coating

Cadmium coating - is electrolytic deposition of thin layer of cadmium on the surface of steel items to protect them from atmospheric corrosion.

The peculiarity of cadmium coating is in the fact that is provides electrochemical protection of steel in tropical conditions. Cadmium is much more plastic than zinc that's why it is preferable to perform cadmium plating on the items with threaded connection. But don't cover those items which are in contact with fuel or in the atmosphere containing volatile organic matter (drying oil, varnish, oils) and sulfides.
